Our Story

At BayNel, our mission is simple: to help businesses create real, lasting value through sustainability.

We founded BayNel because we believe sustainability should feel empowering — not overwhelming. After decades in senior roles across the built environment, financial services and global consulting, Lucy and Rachel saw how often good intentions got lost in complexity. We wanted to change that.

That’s why we built BayNel — a female-founded sustainability consultancy that’s practical, approachable, and rooted in genuine collaboration. We help organisations of all sizes turn ESG ambition into confident action – driving growth, building resilience and creating measurable impact.

People often asked the origin of the name BayNel. We named the business after our four-legged canine friends, Bailey and Nelly. Though they’re no longer with us, they continue to inspire everything we do — a daily reminder of why this work matters: to protect and nurture the world we share.
